Potential Topics covered (Group members will have input as to focus of each session):
What do I bring to the table? What do I need to tend so I can fully show up for my child? What is the thing I’m afraid to say outload?
Trauma/Grief/Loss in adoption – supporting your child in their grieving and healing
Navigating contact/connection with birth family in open adoption
Creating a spirit of openness in your home (even in the absence of contact with birth family)
Navigating Transracial adoption (and transcultural adoption in same race adoptions, because every family has a unique culture!)

Group Leader: Alli Mohler, LCSW, 10 plus years working in the field of adoption
This group is open to ALL families! Two parent households (one or both parents welcome to attend), single parents, LGBTQ+ families, Kinship adoptions. It doesn’t matter if your family was created through foster care, international or domestic infant adoption. It’s ok if you’re navigating an open or closed adoption, transracial or same race adoption. Connection and common ground can be found through all these different experiences!
